RIVERSIDE HOUSE

BACHELOR PROJECT

2018

supervisor: Ing. Michal Palaščák

This apartment house is part of a new row house by the river Svitava in Brno. Orientation to the cardinal points determined the house’s eastern and western facade. The concept of this house is created around this location. The basic idea was to interconnect flats through both facades of the building and create lighted space. Another source of light are skylights going through the whole building, illuminating the main staircase and kitchens of the apartments through the glass walls. The apartments on each floor are diagonally mirrored and the layouts are designed in a variable way, giving possibility of different apartment sizes. The orientation of the living rooms and bedrooms is changeable so it can meet different requirements of the owners. The facade is made of perforated aluminum shutters, which change the facade over time.
